Where? Rablstraße 37 (S-bahn: Rosenheimer Platz) & Ismaninger Straße 5 (U-bahn: Max-Weber-Platz)
What? Many claim Burger House serves Munich's best burger and, after trying quite a few burger joints in the city, I am inclined to agree. Their ingredients are fresh, the bread and sauce homemade, and the burger is juicy and tasty. Try the sweet potato fries or the hand-cut pommes.

Café Marais
Where? Parkstrasse 2 (U-bahn: Schwanthalerhöhe)
What? Worth the trip to the Westend if you are on the look-out for something a bit different from the usual Munich cafés. It doubles as a shop that sells vintage furniture, accessories and cosmetics.

Occam Deli
Where? Feilitzschstrasse 15 (U-bahn: Münchner Freiheit)
What? A modern take on the New York deli. It's great for a light lunch (or not so light if you have the warm pastrami sandwich) or for a filling mid-afternoon meal. Their scrumptious snacks have interesting and unusual flavour combinations, the coffee is good and the home-made cakes are delicious too.

Café Maria
Where? Klenzestraße 97 (U-Bahn: Fraunhoferstraße)
What? For some reason I can't quite pin down, I really like this place. It's usually packed on the weekends, but not so much as other Glockenbach cafés, particularly on a sunny, warm day when you can seat outside. It has decent coffee, good cakes, and excellent and varied breakfast options.

Rue des Halles
Where? Steinstraße 18 (U-bahn: Max-Weber-Platz)
What? The oldest French restaurant in Munich has a simple but inviting atmosphere, very good and unpretentious food and charming waiters. It's great for a relaxed, if slightly fancy, dinner with friends.
